European Online Summit

The European Online Summit has been the most visible milestone of this initiative. On May the 20th 2020 we gathered our global community to meet the 20 social entrepreneurs invited into the program and their systemic solutions to the pandemic and its consequences.

“Welcome to the largest Ashoka online gathering”

1500 people showed up for the welcome ceremony of the summit, where the 20 social entrepreneurs invited into the program briefly shared their initiatives with the public. Also, Marie Ringler, leader of Ashoka Europe, Rubin Ritter, co-CEO of Zalando (founding partner of the initiative) and Matthias Schefelmeier, director of Changemakers United shared their views on the Covid-19 crisis and the goals of the program.

We had the privilege of counting with Mr. Kailash Satyarthi, Nobel Peace Laureate and Ashoka Fellow since 1995 as the keynote speaker of the event. Mr Satyarthi shared his  views about the current crisis and the need to be resilient, hopeful and to turn fear into compassion.
